Why Your Christian Coaching Business Isn't Growing (And It's Not Your Strategy)

Why Your Christian Coaching Business Isn't Growing (And It's Not Your Strategy)

You know you're called to this.

That's not the part you're questioning. You've felt it in your prayer time, in the way a certain woman's story lights you up, in the quiet nudge that will not leave you alone. God called you to coach. You're sure of that.

What you're not sure of is why nothing is working.

You've done the things. The certification. The course. Maybe two or three. You post, and you hear crickets. You tweak your website again. You watch another training. Your days are full, and still, at the end of the week, nothing has actually moved.

And late at night, when the house is quiet, the real fear surfaces. Not "my strategy is off." Something deeper. "Maybe I misheard Him. Maybe this was ego, not calling."

I want to gently tell you something today.

You did not mishear God. And the problem is not your effort.

The problem is the order you built in

Jesus tells a story about two builders in Matthew 7. One built his house on the rock. One built on the sand. Same house. Same effort. Same rain, wind, and floods when the storm came.

But only one house was still standing.

Notice what Jesus did not say. He did not say one builder was lazy and one worked hard. He did not say one had a better house. The difference was never the house. It was the foundation underneath it.

That is your story too.

You are not failing because you aren't trying. You are trying harder than almost anyone I know. You are failing to see traction because you have been building your business on the wrong foundation, in the wrong order. You went looking for the strategy, the funnel, the niche formula, before the foundation was set.

And here is the thing about building in the wrong order. It doesn't look wrong. Right up until the storm comes and nothing holds

Seek first is not a Sunday verse. It's the blueprint.

For years I read that verse as encouragement. A nice reminder to keep God in the picture.

I missed that it is a literal order of operations.

Seek Him first. Then everything gets added. Not seek Him alongside. Not seek Him after the launch fails. First.

Most Christian coaches I meet have it backwards without realizing it. They chase the strategy first and try to bolt God on at the end, like a Bible verse dropped on top of a secular funnel. Then they wonder why it feels hollow and why the results never come.

The foundation is not a marketing tactic. The foundation is your mind renewed, your identity settled, your calling clarified, and your ears tuned to His voice. Everything else gets built on top of that. In that order.

Renewing your mind is the work most coaches skip

Romans 12:2 says do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

Dr. Caroline Leaf has spent decades showing that the mind can actually be rewired, that our thoughts are not fixed, that we can take a thought captive and replace it. Scripture said it first. She simply gave us the science that confirms it.

This matters for you because the quiet beliefs running underneath your business are setting your ceiling. "Wanting more money is greedy." "Staying small is humble." "If this were really from God, it would already be working." You can build every strategy in the world on top of those beliefs, and they will hold you exactly where you are.

Steve Backlund often says that your beliefs are more important than your circumstances, because your beliefs will eventually create your circumstances. The renewing of your mind is not the fluffy part of building a business. For a called woman, it is the foundation the whole thing stands on.

I built on sand for a long time too

I am not writing this from a stage. I am writing it from experience.

There was a season I lost a home to foreclosure. I started over in my forties. For 24 years I worked as an occupational therapist, and I was good at assessing what was actually broken before I ever prescribed a treatment. Root cause before symptom. Always.

When I finally stepped into coaching, I did the same thing everyone does. I chased the strategy first. And it did not work, right up until I let God reorder the whole thing and build the foundation He wanted first.

The gap between your calling and your results is not evidence that you got it wrong. It is evidence that something in the foundation still needs setting. That is not shameful. That is diagnosable. And a diagnosis is the best news a stuck woman can get, because it means there is a way through.

This isn't another program to pile on top

I know you've invested before. I know some of those investments cost real money and produced nothing but more doubt. So hear me clearly. You do not need another certification, another course, or another funnel stacked on the same shaky foundation.

You need the foundation set right, in the right order.

That is exactly what my free 3-Day Jumpstart is for. It is a private, 1:1 intensive where we get clarity on your niche, your dream client, and your message, built on the foundation of who God says you are and what He has actually called you to. Not a webinar. Not a group. Just you and me, prayerfully, for three days.

It's an application, and not everyone is accepted, because I want to serve the woman who is genuinely ready. If that's you, I'd love to meet you there.

You did not mishear God. Let's build on the rock this time.
